Holy Moly!  It's been a while since the last update here.  I guess the excitement of the new build has us playing hooky from real work.  

Exciting times, as we are just about to get a slab poured this week.  Kevin and his guys have been done framing for nearly a month now, and we are waiting on windows to be delivered, a slab to be poured and material for him to come back to our site.  The slab being poured will change everything.  The look and feel of the space will be completely different and we can start envisioning where the floor plan will lay out.  Prior to this point, we spent a long time making sure our under slab plumbing and electrical were correct, installing our slick "slot drain" floor drain system, and putting down foam and a vapor barrier.  A lot of work done just to be covered up by concrete!

Once we have a the slab in place, we can frame the last of the interior walls and invite the trades in to start their rough in work.  We are busy with interior design at this point, making sure we have chosen sturdy and resilient wall, floor and ceiling coverings that will create the decor and feel of the space.  

The excitement continues to build from the owners, contractors, builders and future customers.  We continue to brew lots of beer in our pilot space and look forward to opening up the beer garden for the summer.  We also continue to expand our offerings in both variety and places to get our beer.  The growth has been very exciting and we are excited to get to our new home!

Wowsers.  What a whirlwind.  What the heck just happened? It seems all to familiar to wait and wait and wait and then bam! things get serious.  Thank you all for bearing with us as we struggled through a very strange construction environment, dealing with items not available, crazy cost increases, contractors who were torn between numerous jobs, etc, etc, etc.... But here we are.  OPEN for business in our new tasting room and SOON to be BREWERY.  That's right, at this current time we are still brewing ALL the beer in the little space at 1 Ferry Rd.  But we have food, we have beer (and other beverages), music and so much more.  Thank you all for your patience over the last few months as we worked hard to get this space open. So Close We Can Almost Taste It...

 Forgive us, for it has been far too long since we have blogged. Since our last update, we've crossed out one important item that will get us across the finish line...the electrical panel.  The electricians are sweating just a little bit less now that the panel is in, we are energized and the lights are on.  It only took roughly 15 months from date of order to delivery of the panel.  Oh, the times we live in. Now that we've crossed that hurdle, we can get going on all the finishing touches.  We've had a lot happen since our last post.  We've received partial install of our secondary steel package (which is the railings for the mezzanine, railings for the equipment platform, and the stairs to the mezzanine), received some more vessels (in the snow and ice) had the HVAC system partially installed, installed the wooden angle bracing for the steel post and beam, installed cabinets, moved equipment from various parts of South Hero to the site, received a forklif...

Progress continues on the Brewery!

 The warm early November has leant itself to continued exterior work the last couple weeks.  With the asphalt plant closing by Thanksgiving, we wanted to get some pavement down before winter, should the tap room open shortly after the new year.  The mild days brought all the exterior contractors out in full force.   We continued to have roofing work done by Dave Derby, who is a man on a mission with standing seam roofing.  He does a fine job, a one man show, and continues to show up day in and day out.  Bradley, our siding and all around guru, has been decorating the exterior with board and batten, also, all by himself.  But, both the guys have been at it non-stop. The interior is really beginning to take shape as drywall installation and taping are coming to an end.  We have used some recycled Hemlock for our window sills and half wall caps.  The sheetrock installers bring their music each day and keep us rocking while we work inside.  ...
