Progress continues on the Brewery!

The warm early November has leant itself to continued exterior work the last couple weeks.  With the asphalt plant closing by Thanksgiving, we wanted to get some pavement down before winter, should the tap room open shortly after the new year.  The mild days brought all the exterior contractors out in full force.

We continued to have roofing work done by Dave Derby, who is a man on a mission with standing seam roofing.  He does a fine job, a one man show, and continues to show up day in and day out.  Bradley, our siding and all around guru, has been decorating the exterior with board and batten, also, all by himself.  But, both the guys have been at it non-stop.

The interior is really beginning to take shape as drywall installation and taping are coming to an end.  We have used some recycled Hemlock for our window sills and half wall caps.  The sheetrock installers bring their music each day and keep us rocking while we work inside.  I am working now to form up our bar (and associated counter tops for the customer area) in preparation for a massive concrete pour.  More details to follow in a separate post, as it will take a village to make this thing happen.

Daren, our head brewer and subsequently our in-house landscaper has many exterior projects going as the weather continues to hold.  He's helped plant 9 autumn blaze maples along the sidewalk, prepared the base for our awesome exterior sign and rock wall, and is in the midst of a patio walk way in the rear of the building.  I guess those years of working landscaping are going to pay off!

We are pushing to move our tasting room to this new location in February.  We will slowly build up the restaurant offerings shortly after that.  All the while, we will be working to install our new brew system and work out the kinks.  By May, we should be open full force.  In the meantime, we'll be brewing at 1 Ferry Rd.  We currently have 11 different beers available and once cider.  It's small and quaint, but it's worth the visit.  Stay tuned!
